Since my blog is about the Obama presidency, It will be easy to relate his first address to Congress to my topic :)So here goes my attempt at "live blogging"
I like what Michelle Obama is wearing....
Here comes the President.....he is taking forever to get to the podium because he is shaking hands with everyone.
Obama gives extra time to Justice Ginsberg
ABC News is telling me to use Twitter to give them feedback...we really are in the digital age.
He's made it to the podium and the cheering is louder, Pelosi introduces him and the place goes crazy
Obama addresses everyone including the first lady, I am not going to lie, that was cute.
Now the Economy, the Economy, the Economy
"We will rebuild, recover, and emerge stronger than before.
Take responsibility for future once more, no more blame but we need to understand why we are in this predicament.
To many short gains instead of investing in future. The day of reckoning has arrived. Now is the time.
Agenda- That begins with jobs. Economic recovery act is now law.
Save or create millions of jobs. 95% households receiving tax cuts, college students get money too!
Nobody messes with Joe. Oh Joe Biden. Check out Recovery.gov. But just first step, no reveal recovery until clean up credit system.
Credit is everything. Creating new lending fund.
Applause,Applause too much Applause.
Housing, Banks, hold people accountable for everything.
Jimmy Carter is there.
No more fancy jets or pricy drapes for CEO's with tax payer money. Inaction worse for us and next generation.
Our job to solve the problem, put politics aside not about helping banks but helping people.
Asking congress to hurry legislation. It is time. Long term investments to compete with the economy of the world. Our responsibility. Laundry list. Dem & Rep have to sacrifice especially the president. History=big ideas.
Civil War, industrial Age, War, Depression, GI Bill, highways, the moon, and technology. Government created condition for the people to thrive. Energy, Health Care and Education.
Fallen behind in solar energy. Time for America to lead again. Auto industry. Health Care can no longer be put on hold.
Pelosi is overenthusiastic!
Seek cure for cancer.....(lets just try to fix the economy before we do anything else)
Education is a must I completely agree with him. Affordable Education for everyone. Open doors for children but we have to make sure they get through the door. Responsibility begins at home.
Speaking of education time to get to class.......
